Me

Contact, clash, opposite, contrary, addition, or subtraction.
Circle, vortex, cluster of sensations, fantastic landscape where hopes and depressions die, memories come alive.
Emotion transforms into color, making what I feel visible.
I exist.
Incontrovertibly.
This is my painting.
The painting of Sylvie Renault.
Artist of Imperfect Circles.

My RECENT

Work

Imperfect painter, imperfect woman.
As in life,
on my canvases, mistakes are not erased, not disguised.
Nor are they underlined.
They are simply accepted.
Becoming a fundamental part of the work, as in life itself.
Because to make mistakes is to live.
Falling in love with my circles will make you fall in love with yourselves.
Because it’s all of us that I depict.
All of us perfectly imperfect.

Performance

Sylvie Renault

Painter, Creative, Concept Designer.

Present in group and solo exhibitions from 1989 to the present in Rome, Naples, Ischia, Olbia, Turin, Milan, Padua, Veroli, London, Amsterdam, and New York (USA).

An eclectic and multifaceted artist, she lives in constant contamination and mutual fusion of her two hemispheres, bringing logic into creativity and art into rule.

Every idea of hers is innovative, born from a visionary spirit. Each of her works is supported by solid foundations.

Over the years, she has pursued personal, professional, and artistic projects alongside her painting.

She founded the interdisciplinary group “Play4*” with which, for two consecutive times (2008 – 2010), she participated in the international competition “FoodDesign,” qualifying as a finalist and exhibiting in Turin and London:

  • The performative art installation “Play4Food – Eat for free”;
  • The design object “Palette – The Art of Taste.”

Love and the fundamentals of the art of painting were absorbed from her aunt Maria Rita Renault, a rare and perhaps almost unique female artistic figure in a fervent post-war Livorno (a student of masters Cafiero Filippelli, Ennio Morlotti, and Voltolino Fontani), and from other important figures, Metaphysical and Impressionist artists in the current contemporary art scene (F. Fortunato, G. D’Ascenzi), who used to revolve in her life as a child and as a young woman.

From this fortunate and fortuitous crossroads of influences, her passion for art in general, and more specifically for informal painting, which forms the foundation of her creativity, was born.

“Imperfect Circles” is the project associated with her paintings and the concept of perfect imperfection.

A chromatic and formal amalgamation made up of lines, vortices, curves, and coloristic expressions is the painterly alphabet through which the author’s emotions are unveiled.

Upon seeing it, the observer is engaged in intense emotional activity.
